The request comes from wildlife charity People’s Trust for Endangered Species’ who run an annual Living with Mammals survey.
This year, and for the first time in the survey’s 18 year history, the survey will run all year. It follows a hugely successful year last year, saw record-breaking numbers of volunteers taking part, thanks to more people being at home and having the time to watch wildlife in their gardens and/or nearby green spaces.

This year, it is the first time they will be running the survey all year round - usually it is just a springtime event - and has been running for 18 years. Anyone in the UK can take part by looking in gardens, allotments, parks and other gtreen spaces, and say: Whether you have hedgehogs under your hedge or even a pine marten on your patio, all sightings are valuable. They are hoping for this survey to continue as a year-long survey in future years.
