Cenovus Foster Creek had a COVID-19 outbreak declared at its site by Alberta Health Services, making it the second oil sands operation in the Cold Lake area to be impacted by the coronavirus.
Imperial Cold Lake is also still listed on the AHS website as an outbreak spot, having had 13 workers test positive in November.

Sonja Franklin, a spokeswoman for Cenovus, did not say how many workers tested positive for COVID-19 at Foster Creek.
For a work camp to be declared an outbreak site there has to be five or more cases, according to the AHS website. Other workplaces, like office buildings, are listed as outbreaks when there are 10 or more cases.
