BCSO requesting information regarding theft of ATVs

Monday, February 22, 2021 3:45 pm GATESWOOD The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public in regards to the theft of two ATVs at hunting camps near Highway 112 in the Gateswood community. According to a release issued Monday by the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division, both thefts were reported Thursday, Feb. 18. “We are requesting assistance from the public with the prevention of any other thefts from hunting camps,” according to the release. “Now that hunting season is over, please do your best to secure any high value property that may be stored at unoccupied locations. Consider posting no trespassing signs, install a gate to your property and lock it, keep items from view of the roadway, remove the keys to any vehicles or otherwise disable them, consider installing lights and or cameras. Make your property less attractive and harder to access to reduce criminal activity.”

Loxley woman denied parole in 2011 stabbing death of husband

Posted Brittnea Myers By John Underwood / john@gulfcoastmedia.com MONTGOMERY, Alabama A Loxley woman sentenced in 2013 for the 2011 stabbing death of her husband has been denied parole by the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles in Montgomery. According to a press release, the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 27 parole hearings Wednesday, Feb. 3 granting seven paroles and denying 20. Three parole hearings were continued to a later date. The board also held 10 hearings on requests for pardons. Among those denied was Britnea Leann Myers, now 31, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence on manslaughter charges at the Birmingham Community Work Center.

Woman missing in Foley

Friday, February 5, 2021 12:00 am The Foley Police Department, in conjunction with the Baldwin County Sheriff s Office, is investigating the disappearance of 30-year-old Briana Lorlean Reyes.  Reyes, who has frequented the areas of Bon Secour and Magnolia Springs, has not been in contact with her family since April, 2020.  Her family is concerned because she regularly contacts them during the holidays, but this season she did not.  If you have seen Ms. Reyes or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the Foley Police Department. Fairhope High band director arrested on child pornography charges

By Guy Busby FAIRHOPE – Fairhope High School band director Anthony Wayne Fillingim was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 27, on four felony charges of possession of obscene matter, investigators with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday. Fillingim, 43, was charged after deputies searched his Daphne home. A warrant had been issued after an investigation of reports determined that that Fillingim had downloaded sexually explicit images of someone younger than 17, a Sheriff’s Office statement said. Investigators searching his home found at least one electronic device that was directly related to the transfer of the unlawful images. They also seized other devices that are being checked, the statement said.
