CLEVELAND, Ohio Wesley Williams, a local rapper and musician known as WesWill, says his art reflects being Black in America and represents the people’s thoughts and feelings.
“The Black boy or girl that have dreams of leaving their mark on this world in their own unique journey,” Williams said. “My art represents everybody taking it one day at a time and figuring this life thing out - dealing with all the ups and downs along the way.”
Williams, a native of Cleveland Heights, said his love of music started early. From his mother’s love of ’80s and ’90s R&B to his grandmother singing old church hymns.

Reheating memories of past Chili Cook Offs: Olmsted Dates and Data
OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio – Here in Olmsted, Sunday’s moniker was Chili Bowl.
The Olmsted Community Church normally has its Chili Cook Off around this time of year. Well, due to the virus, that did not occur.
It did create, however, a Souper Bowl of Caring. It is asking its congregation, and the community, if you will, to donate non-perishable food or monetary donations to this event. The food items will go to our Christians in Action local food pantry. Food donations may be dropped off through Feb. 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Olmsted Community Church, at the Olmsted Township police station and Olmsted Community Center. Monetary donations may be made by going to the church’s website.
It s raining music: Ellwood City man uses rainsticks for soothing sounds
By Louise Carroll
For The Ledger
ELLWOOD CITY – A local man has put a modern spin on an ancient instrument that has been used for centuries.
Noah Rectenwald uses rainsticks, which produce the sound of rainfall, for a project he calls Rainstick Dreams. I call them Rainstick Dreams because they make the sound of rain that is very relaxing to make you sleep and dream, and it is my dream to have my rainstick business, he said.
Instead of the traditional design, Rectenwald makes his rainsticks with transparent plastic tubes he buys online and poppy and amaranth seeds that he buys at a Pittsburgh co-op.
