Andrew Brown Jr. Family Attorney Says Prosecutor Swore at Him: Never Been Talked to Like That

Bakari Sellers, a civil rights attorney representing the family of Andrew Brown Jr., on Monday criticized the police for showing disrespect to Brown s family and said local prosecutor Michael Cox swore at him.
On Wednesday, Pasquotank County sheriff s deputies fatally shot Andrew Brown Jr., 42, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina as he was being served an arrest warrant for felony drug charges. Authorities have released few details about the incident that resulted in Brown s death.
On Monday, Cox, a Pasquotank County attorney, showed the Brown family a 20-second bodycam clip from the incident. Brown family attorney Chantel Cherry-Lassiter called it an execution.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Mayor Bettie Parker declared state of emergency in Elizabeth City ahead of deputies releasing body camera footage of Andrew Brown Jr. s death, an incident that officials say could cause civil unrest .
A planned peaceful protest began at 7 a.m. at the Pasquotank County Public Safety Building on Monday.
The video is set to be viewed by Brown s family and their attorney at the Pasquotank County Sheriffâs Office at 11:30 a.m., and a news conference will immediately follow.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - The family of Andrew Brown, the man fatally shot by a deputy while conducting a search warrant, was scheduled to see body camera footage of the incident Monday.
The family and their attorneys reported that they would have the chance the view the footage Monday at 11:30 a.m., at the Pasquotank County Sheriff s Office.
As the family arrived they were made aware that the video is not ready for review due to the need to make redactions.
