Image Credit: FACEBOOK/BC Government February 23, 2021 - 4:54 PM The outlook for summer is better than you might think, according to B.C.’s top doctor. “We have to manage the pandemic that we are still living through right now, but in the coming months, we re going to be able to do all those things that we have been missing for the last year,” provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said today, Feb. 23, when asked about the vaccination program. “By the time we get to the summer, we re going to be in a different place and it s going to take all of us working together, and being patient and supporting our neighbours and supporting our elders and seniors in our lives, to get this going in the coming weeks, she said.

BC Liberal Party wants more transparency in COVID-19 data reporting

In a letter to the Minister of Health, BC Liberal MLAs Merrifield and Jackie Tegart called on the Minister to increase public reporting of COVID-19 data, including daily updates on vaccinations delivered and administered in each health authority and detailed daily case breakdowns for schools, long-term care homes and assisted living facilities. “Right now, parents are asking for information to make decisions for the safety of their children in schools, families want to know more so they can provide the best possible care for at-risk family members people want to be able to make evidence-based decisions,” said Tegart, BC Liberal Education Critic and MLA for Fraser-Nicola. “Data is a vital tool that can help promote greater compliance with public health orders and help reassure British Columbians they have the information necessary to make the best decisions for their families.”
