The Spicy Chicken Sandwich Wars Are Heating Up

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich Wars Are Heating Up This is a food category I think I can speak with some expertise on, because I consume a lot of chicken every week. And I am a fan of the Spicy Chicken sandwiches. And yes, I have tried every single one of them. Wendy s had the spicy chicken sandwich decades ago. Now every fast food chain has added this delicacy to their menu. Chick-fil-a claims they invented the fried chicken sandwich in the 1940s. It was back on August 12, 2019, the date Popeye’s introduced their famous chicken sandwich, which really didn’t make any waves until Chick-fil-A posted on twitter they had the first fried chicken sandwich. Popeye s responded and the chicken sandwich wars were on. One week later cars were lined around all of the Popeye’s Chicken locations to get their chicken sandwich. Popeye’s sells out for the day on a regular basis, it’s increased their business by 38%.

Are Arthur Treacher s Fish & Chips or H Salt Still in Michigan?

I remember back in the 70s when there were those H.Salt Fish & Chips shops. Crispy fish filets, huge french fries (chips), smothered in that tasty malt vinegar - a tradition that originated in Great Britain in the 1860s. Then all of a sudden the Michigan shops disappeared. Then along came Arthur Treacher s Fish & Chips. When H. Salt disappeared, I thought the name was changed to Treacher s.but no. Treacher s came along as a separate entity in 1969, four years after H. Salt arrived. So backtracking, what happened to H. Salt? The first shop opened in 1965 in California. When Kentucky Fried Chicken co-partnered with them in 1969, the first Michigan shop was opened in Lansing, followed by many other Michigan towns & cities. KFC sold H. Salt in 1980. From there, they disappeared, one-by-one. In 2020 there were seven U.S. locations left, all in California, but thanks to Covid and shops closing, there may not be any left open.maybe one?

Save Your Flakes! Cereal Fest is a No Go Again This Year

Save Your Flakes! Cereal Fest is a No Go Again This Year A downtown festival that has been a staple in Battle Creek’s bridge to summer won’t happen again this year. Kellogg Arena, the organizers of the National Cereal Festival, recently announced that the 2021 edition won’t happen this year, postponing the event for the second straight year. Even as the pandemic is starting to go on the decline, the safety and health of the Battle Creek community along with out of town guests and staff remains the priority. The current federal, state and local health guidelines only allow up to 7500 patrons for outdoor events, making it almost impossible for the event to occur.

Microscopic Monsters On Your Skin, Your Clothes, and Ones You Eat

Microscopic Monsters On Your Skin, Your Clothes, and Ones You Eat Michigan crops are among the best in the world. But if we studied all our food under microscopes, we may starve to death. Some of the little creatures that reside in our food fuel are pretty scary and shocking. “How about a cheeseburger?“ “But the burger?” “Bacon? Ham? Sausage?” “What about a salad? “ “A glass of water?” One of the worst. Lotsa bacteria and microbes swim all through it. Now, I love cheddar cheese and I could eat a block of it. Yet I know that there are thousands of living creatures in it. Cooked meat still has bacteria, even though most of em were probably killed off when you cooked it. Even so, you d still be eating dead microbes and wormy things.
