WOODSTOCK - A dramatic rescue at the Pittock Conservation Area in Woodstock on Sunday.
Two 11 year old boys fell into the water around 11:30 Sunday morning. By the time EMS, Fire and Police arrived, the one kid was able to make it back to land, however one of the youths was still in the ice. Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods says at that point fire crews sprang into action.

Two boys who fell through the ice at a Woodstock conservation area were rescued by firefighters.
The boys were on the ice of the reservoir at Pittock Conservation Area when they ended up in the frigid water Sunday morning.

Woodstock firefighters rescued the two boys, who were alert and talking to paramedics after they got to shore, said Lisa Woods, a spokesperson for the fire department.
“We want to remind all residents that it is not safe for anyone including pets to be off the trails walking,” she said. “Pittock has areas of sand and water and the ice is not safe for walking and the depths of the water are not consistent.”

Two boys were rescued by Woodstock firefighters early Sunday morning after they fell through the ice at the Pittock Conservation Area.
Lisa Woods, the fire department’s public information co-ordinator, said the two boys were both alert and talking to Oxford County paramedics after being rescued from the chilly water.

Emergency services rescued two young boys who fell through ice and into water Sunday at Pittock Conservation Area in Woodstock.
Lisa Woods, the public information coordinator for the Woodstock Fire Department, said passersby noticed the emergency and called 911 shortly after noon. [The boys] were very scared, no question about it, she said. They were yelling out to the pedestrians that were walking by that they were having trouble breathing and weren t able to move.
