KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 The High Court today set Dec 20 to 22, 2021 and March 14 to 17, 2022 to hear two defamation suits filed by Dr Zakir Naik against Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy.
Two suits filed separately in October and December 2019, on the allegation that Ramasamy issued defamatory statements involving the independent preacher, besides linking Dr Zakir to the LTTE issue.
Lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, who represented Dr Zakir as the plaintiff, said that Judge Datuk Mohd Firuz Jaffril set Dec 20 to 22, 2021 and March 14 to 17, 2022 as trial dates.

THE High Court in Kuala Lumpur today set December 20-22, 2021, and March 14-17, 2022, to hear two defamation suits filed by Zakir Naik against Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy.
The suits, filed separately in October and December 2019, on the allegation that Ramasamy made defamatory statements involving the independent preacher, besides linking Zakir to the Tamil Tigers.

The two-day virtual fair was organised by The Ship Campus and Peninsula College. The Ship Campus is set to be the headquarters
of Peninsula College.
THE Batu Kawan Career Fair 2021, organised by The Ship Campus and Peninsula College, was a success with over 800 resumes received for about 400 job positions advertised by 19 participating companies.
The inaugural virtual fair, held over two days from March 6, saw engagements from 5,000 people on the event’s Facebook page.
The fair was aimed at boosting graduate employment among the major industry players at Batu Kawan and to create more visible employment opportunities for those who lost their job due to the economic impact of Covid-19.

GEORGE TOWN, Feb 28 Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow was given the Covid-19 vaccine jab at 10.25 am today at the Penang Hospital (HPP), marking the beginning of the state-level National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Also given the vaccine jab today were Penang Police Chief Datuk Sahabudin Abd Manan, Penang Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, State Secretary Datuk Abdul Razak Jaafar and State Health director Datuk Dr Asmayani Khalib.

THE school board of SJK(T) Jalan Lobak in Seremban will provide financial aid to two pupils from poor families for their education all the way to tertiary level,
Makkal Osai reported.
The board chairman Jeyakumar Muniandy said Suhasini Rajachandran and Sharveshini Subramaniam had achieved excellent results in UPSR in 2017 and 2018.
He added that to ensure that their families’ financial situation does not affect their education, the board has been giving the girls RM1,200 each a year since then to help with their expenses.
He expressed hope that the students will continue to excel in their education and make their family and primary school proud, after he handed over cheques for RM2,400 covering 2020 and 2021 to each of their mothers.
