A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8.13 am on Tuesday, carrying 106 workers, said Tahera Khandaker, spokeswoman for the state-owned carrier.
Two more special flights will leave for Dammam and Jeddah carrying migrant workers, with another cargo flight leaving Dhaka for Hong Kong on Tuesday evening.
With a surge in coronavirus cases across the country, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh banned all international flights until Apr 28.
The flights carrying the migrant workers to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Qatar and Oman, however, will be operating as usual.

(CAAB) has decided to resume flights on domestic routes under limited
scale from tomorrow while allowed four airlines to operate flight from

Limited numbers of scheduled passenger domestic flight will be
resumed from tomorrow, a CAAB circular said here tonight.
The resumption will be taken place after 16 days of suspension as
CAAB imposed ban on passenger flight operations on all domestic routes
following countrywide restriction to check spread of COVID-19 from
April 5.

Passenger flights will be operated on all domestic routes, except Cox s Bazar from Apr 21, CAAB Chairman M Mofidul Rahman said.
Many migrant workers come to Shahjalal International Airport from outside Dhaka to go abroad or travel to other parts of the country and the decision was taken mainly with them in mind, said Mofidul. However, others will also be able to travel on these flights.
