KSA’s Sudden Flight Ban: 100 Bangladeshis sent back from Abu Dhabi Airport

Around 100 Bangladeshi workers heading to Saudi Arabia were forced to return from Abu Dhabi Monday night following the sudden decision of the Saudi government to suspend all international flights, including to and from Dhaka.
According to the workers, they were flying to Saudi Arabia via Abu Dhabi from Dhaka on Sunday, Shariful Hasan, head of Brac migration programme, said yesterday.
Their flight was cancelled and the workers were sent back to Dhaka from Abu Dhabi.
Returning to Dhaka, many workers were seen crying helplessly.

UN peacekeeping mission: 140 policemen leave for Mali

A Bangladesh Police team left for the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Sunday night.
The 140-member strong contingent flew to Mali s capital Bamako.
Deputy Commander, ANM Masuf Abdullah, additional superintendent of police, is leading the 70-member Bangladesh Formed Police Unit (BANFPU-1) seventh rotation while additional SP Saifuzzaman is leading the BANFPU-2 third rotation.
Mazharul Islam, additional inspector general of Police; Tawfique Mahbub Chowdhury, deputy inspector general (Media and Planning) and officials of the UN Affairs wing saw off the peacekeeping team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said a press release of Police Headquarters.
