On February 26 in the championship dual of the Class A Dual Tournament at State Wrestling in Rapid City, the Governors trailed Rapid City Stevens by as many as 13 points and were still down three going into the final match.  138-pound wrestler Hayden Shaffer trailed Stevens’ Corter Doney 4-1 heading into the third period.  Then, Shaffer quickly hit a cradle and pinned Doney 39 seconds into the third period to give Pierre its first dual wrestling championship.
