Puebloans who made $57,000 or less in 2020 will soon have access to a free tax filing service.
Through a partnership between Tax Help Colorado, Colorado State University Pueblo and Pueblo Community College, student volunteers trained as IRS-certified tax preparers will provide virtual tax assistance from Feb. 2 through March 16.
The program has operated in Pueblo for the past 12 years, and Tene Greenhood, an accounting lecturer in CSU Pueblo’s Hasan School of Business who supervises the sites at both Pueblo schools, said in previous years anywhere between 50 and 400 community members have used the service.
“But this year there’s really no limit,” Greenhood said.
