The region’s death toll over the past year is now 590, while the case count increased to 35,082 with 172 new infections reported since last week. Six of the 27 patients with COVID at Peoria-area hospitals remain in intensive care units, while 351 people are isolating at home. Active cases have fallen by 82% in the past five weeks.
