MADISON – Today, Speaker
Robin Vos, Chair of the Committee on Assembly Organization, issued a paper ballot to members of the committee to approve or deny authorization to hire legal counsel and employ investigators. The ballot issued today is another Republican attempt to sow doubt about the 2020 presidential election.
“This is another wild abuse of power by the Republican Party leadership,” said Representative
“Speaker Vos is a
Donald Trump mimic, desperately trying to challenge the legitimacy of an election proven over and over again to be fair. Not only is this damaging to our democracy, it is a clear violation of public trust. It is clear my far-right Republican colleagues know no limits in their quest to subvert the will of the people. I hope they will remember their place on the wrong side of history.”
MADISON – Today, Representative
Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) was sworn in for her 5th term in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Hesselbein participated in a virtual swearing-in ceremony with her new colleagues which was facilitated by Governor
“I am proud to have, once again, earned the trust of the people of the 79th Assembly District as I continue my service in the Wisconsin State Assembly,” said Hesselbein. “The challenges we face today are unprecedented and require experienced leadership as we move forward together as Wisconsinites. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grip our nation, taking lives and livelihoods alike, I will push for relief in the coming session that is long overdue as a result of Republican inaction in the legislature.”
