Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help as they try to identify suspects in a rash of catalytic converter thefts.

SUPPLY, N.C. (WECT) - The Brunswick County Sheriffâs Office is asking for the publicâs help to locate a 15-year-old who was last seen on Monday.
Dalton Lee Youngs was reported missing after he was last seen on Mackerel Street in Supply, wearing blue jeans, a plain white t-shirt, and black sandals.
Heâs six feet tall and weighs 200 pounds with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.

It s certainly more than we re used to having, he said.
The city has averaged about 15 homicides per year since 2014, Coburn said. In 2017, Wilmington neared this year’s totals with 20 homicides. The following year, the city saw 9 homicides.
In 2020, Wilmington saw at least one homicide every month. The final three months of the year brought a total of eight homicides.
Such a wave of crime is not unprecedented, according to Coburn.
Guns a common factor in Wilmington homicides, crime
Guns are the common thread in many of Wilmington’s 2020 homicides, Coburn said. Shootings made up 18, or nearly 82%, of the city’s homicide deaths.
Williams was previously convicted in 2006 as a habitual felon for drug offenses.
Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver crack cocaine, and one count of felony elude arrest in a motor vehicle.
Williams led Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a high speed chase after they conducted a search warrant on his home. The office’s investigation determined Williams sold hundreds of doses of crack cocaine in his neighborhood prior to his arrest.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - A Bolivia man was sentenced as a habitual offender this week and will spend more than five years in prison.
Craig Lakeith Williams was sentenced to a minimum of 68 months and a maximum of 94 months in the Department of Adult Corrections, Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David announced Wednesday.
Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Crack Cocaine, and one count of Felony Elude arrest in a Motor Vehicle. Williams previously was convicted as a habitual felon for drug offenses in 2006.
