Woman Dies after Car Becomes Submerged in New Vineyard Pond
Police are investigating an accident that ended with a car in a pond and a woman who was deceased.
Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the Franklin County Sheriff s Office got a call just before 11:00 Tuesday morning from a man who told them his vehicle was submerged in a pond. He went on to say that he and his wife required medical attention.

When Deputies got to the scene, they made contact with the husband and then went to check on his wife, who was lying on the shore of the pond. First Responders determined that she had died, prior to their arrival. The man was then transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital. There s no word on how badly he was hurt.
The programs have different lengths, different requirements, but they all have the same goal â to help area youth.
Dr. Herman Walston, a professor of childhood development and family relations at Kentucky State University, is the founder and director of KSUâs Promising Youth Center for Excellence.
The center has been offering programs since 2004, and all of them have been funded by federal grants authored by Walston.
âThe parameters are set by the funding agency,â said Walston, who is the principal investigator of programs that fall under the Promising Youth Center for Excellence.
âThe last one was specifically for males; other ones have been for males and females.
