Somerset County officials announced an investigation into a shooting that may have occurred in the area of Hamilton Street in the late evening hours of Monday, May 31, in Franklin Township.
Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson stated that on May 31, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Franklin Township Police officers were dispatched to an area hospital for a wounded victim that was reportedly shot while in the area of Hamilton Street in Franklin Township.

FRANKLIN (Somerset) – A 23-year-old Somerset section man died after he was stabbed multiple times early Tuesday inside a Holland Drive residence, authorities said.
Franklin police responded around 12:04 a.m. Tuesday to a residence on Holland Drive on a report of a victim who was injured in a physical altercation. The victim, identified as Jamari R. Stephenson, of Holland Drive, sustained multiple fatal stab wounds and was pronounced at the scene, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson.
A motive for the attack or the identity of a potential suspect have not been released. The investigation remained ongoing Tuesday.
