FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) â One Franklin Church is celebrating 150 years of history and contributions to the community.
St. Paul s Episcopal Church on West Main Street has seen a lot of changes. The church was actually founded in 1827 but, closed during the Civil War and was used as barracks by Federal troops, even a hospital. At one point it served as a stable, before Reverend Edward Bradley from Memphis brought it back to life in 1871.
The coronavirus pandemic has caused organizers to cancel events since March, but members of Franklin Church of the Nazarene wanted to make sure their drive-through nativity took place as scheduled.Despite temperatures hovering at about 40 degrees, church members dressed up as shepherds, angels, Mary, Joseph and the three wise men to keep the Christmas tradition
