Child hunger has grown nationwide since the beginning of the pandemic, and when kids aren’t in school, some are left without food at home. That’s one issue Franklin Supervisory Union Schools is trying to address. And they’re not doing it alone. Every Wednesday they have a group of people who help out, their School Resource Officer Jim Lynch being one of them. Officer Lynch saying, it’s one of the most important parts of his job. “It’s in a lot of ways a gift that these people know who you are and trust you enough to seek you out.” He heads out at about 7 a.m. every Wednesday, bringing meals to kids who are learning from home. He says though, that the families he makes deliveries to aren’t the only ones receiving. It’s more about building relationships with people, with staff, with members of the community.
