Belfast City Council to hear requests for Memorial Day parade and Arts on the Park approval

Erica Thoms Tue, 04/20/2021 - 10:15am Meetings begin with a roll call of Belfast Mayor Eric Sanders, and City Councilors Mary Mortier, Neal Harkness, Michael Hurley, Brenda Bonneville, Paul Dean, in addition to City Manager Erin Herbig, and Administrative Assistance Manda Cushing.  Topics of discussion for the meeting include multiple requests for approval submitted by various local businesses, in addition to a request for a parade permit from VFW Post 3108 for its Memorial Day Parade, scheduled to take place May 31.  The Belfast Parks and Recreation Department will also make several requests of the Council, including using Capital Project and Capital Reserve funding to resurface the Belfast Park pool, which typically opens in June. 

Belfast City Council to consider New Year s Day sing-along, code violations

BELFAST  The Belfast City Council will gather for its regular council meeting Dec. 15, with agenda items including an update regarding Belfast’s poet laureate and a potential community sing-along on New Year’s Day, among others.  The Belfast City Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of every month. Several requests for blanket letters of approval will be heard at the meeting, including one for Randall Collins & Auxiliary VFW Post 3108 for card games. Frank D. Hazeltine American Legion Post 43 is also requesting a letter approving cribbage; the approval letters would be active for a year starting Jan. 1, 2021.
