ONE further Covid-19-related hospital death has been reported today in Bradford hospitals. According to the latest NHS figures, there was one further death reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, on June 8. There were no further deaths reported by Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. It means the total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district now stands at 895 – 632 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, 261 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. Nationally, a further six patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died over the last three days, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 87,247.
A LANDMARK moment has been reached locally in the fight against coronavirus as the vaccination programme in Bradford district and Craven delivered its 500,000th dose of the vaccine. The milestone came as it was announced that more than half of all adults in the UK have received a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and three quarters of UK adults have had a first jab. Mary Dodgson, 62, from Woodside, was one of the people who helped reach the half a million dose milestone by getting her first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine at The Ridge Medical Centre in Great Horton, Bradford.
