The judge locking up Dean Fisher said he would be failing in his public duty to the citizens of Bradford if he spared him immediate custody. Fisher, 41, of Stony Lane, Allerton, Bradford, was twice arrested peddling heroin in six weeks, Bradford Crown Court heard. Prosecutor Ken Green said he was caught the first time after the police spotted him dealing on Sunbridge Road at 1pm on July 8, 2019. They followed his Renault Clio mobility car to Girlington Road when he was found to have 12 wraps of heroin with him worth £55.

A BRADFORD man, who gave police false details to avoid speeding convictions, has been sent to jail. Jean Claude Iyoma, 54, of Gondal Court, told officers that three different people had been behind the wheel of his vehicles when they were caught speeding on separate occasions between 2017 and 2019. Police made extensive attempts to trace the people named, all of whom Iyoma claimed to be foreign nationals. No records of their existence could be found. Upon further questioning, Iyoma could not provide an account of how or why they had been behind the wheel of his vehicles. Iyoma, who admitted perverting the course of justice at an earlier hearing was jailed for eight months at Bradford Crown Court, today.

Muhammad Zaccariyah was at the wheel of a red Mercedes C220 shortly after midnight when he ignored police orders to stop and accelerated away, tyres screeching. Prosecutor Martin Robertshaw told Bradford Crown Court that Zaccariyah drove down Linden Avenue in Bradford Moor on to Gipsy Street before abandoning the car on Dick Lane. The Mercedes belonging to his mother was seized by the police and Zaccariyah, 17 at the time and now 18, was arrested.

Bradford Crown Court A SUTTON-in-Craven man is to appear before Bradford Crown Court to face a charge of being in ‘possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence’ towards three other people. Making his first appearance at Skipton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday), Robert Tosney, 27, of North View, Bridge Road, gave a no plea indication. The alleged offence relates to an air pistol which Tosney is charged with being in possession of in North View, Sutton-in-Craven, on December 11 last year. He is to appear for a pre-trial preparation hearing at Bradford Crown Court on June 4 at 10am. He was given unconditional bail to appear at that date.

Woman appears before court charged with sending malicious communications to Bradford West MP Naz Shah A WOMAN has made her first appearance before Bradford Crown Court charged with sending malicious communications to Bradford West MP Naz Shah and intending to pervert the course of public justice. Sundas Alam, 30, of Princeville Street, Lidget Green, Bradford, denied all four charges put to her this morning and her trial was fixed to begin on October 25. Alam, who wore a pink jumper for the short hearing, appeared before the court on a video link to HMP Newhall where she is remanded until the trial date.
