A Minnesota elementary school teacher quickly impressed and received some praise from fans after joining ABC s The Bachelor on Monday night.
Michelle Young, from Edina, was one of five contestants who arrived on the show a few episodes into this season.
The 27-year-old Young is a former Division I basketball player for Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. and also starred at Woodbury High School, where she set the school s single-season scoring record her senior season, earning several local and nationwide accolades along the way.
Her bachelorette biography states she s focused on preparing her students to be the next generation of community leaders but joined the show because she s ready to find love and a man with whom to start a family.
