Colombia Approves Delta Air Lines, LATAM Joint Venture

MIAMI – Colombian civil aviation authorities have approved a joint venture agreement between LATAM (LA) and Delta Air Lines (DL). LATAM Airlines Group, the largest airline consortium in South America, its subsidiary LATAM Airlines Colombia, and DL have been given the go-ahead of the partnership with no conditions attached. Thus, Colombia becomes the third country in South America to approve the LATAM-DL joint venture, following Brazil and Uruguay. Chilean authorities are currently reviewing the agreement. Air Canada to Increase Non-Stop Winter Service to Hawaii

MIAMI – Air Canada (AC) seeks more non-stop options to the state of Hawaii as it prepares its network planning for the winter 2022 season. Three of these routes will be offered by the airline for the first time: Montreal-Honolulu, Toronto-Maui, and Calgary-Honolulu. These routes, along with resumed service for Toronto-Honolulu, Calgary-Maui, Vancouver-Honolulu, Vancouver-Maui, and Vancouver-Kona, will commence in December 2021. British Airways on the Run for Britons Summer Escapes

MIAMI – British Airways (BA) is doubling its efforts to offer Britons the summer holidays they have been craving for after more than a year of strict travel abstinence. To do so, the airline is putting on the market more than 90,000 seats available starting today, in time for the long-awaited travel bubble announced by prime Minister Boris Jonhson to become effective on May 17. Delta Air Lines Offers Customers More Seating Options

MIAMI – Delta Air Lines (DL), by retrofitting its Boeing 767 and Airbus A330 fleets, is giving more seating options to its customers as the carrier is continuing to rebuild its global reach for 2021 with new routes to Iceland and Greece. According to a press release, DL is expanding its Premium Select seating arrangement to more aircraft starting from Spring 2021, starting with a retrofit of the Boeing 767-300 aircraft during the current month, to be followed by the Airbus 330 fleet in mid-July, with the aim to offer this product in time for summer peak travel.
