Retroactive pay and an extra pay period in 2020 skyrocketed the number of Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board employees earning $100,000 or more by 187 per cent.
The number of Catholic school board employees on the so-called Sunshine List increased to 428 last year from 149 in 2019.

“Collective bargaining was completed and teachers received a retroactive one per cent increase for 2019 and 2020,” said Tracey Austin, the board’s manager of communications. “Anyone who was at the maximum salary of the pay grid would have surpassed the salary threshold for the Sunshine List.”
