After a month and some change of prohibition, surfing is officially allowed to resume at Nazaré. However, the decree comes with a few new rules.
Surfing is only permitted on weekdays from sunrise until 1:00pm, reports
magicseaweed per the Captain of Porto da Nazare, Zeferino Henriques. Additionally, the new rules will seek to limit the number of spectators on the bluff, beach, and lighthouse vista to 2,500. The update – which was announced yesterday, December 14th – overturns the previous ban from November 4th.
