A Saturday afternoon fire at a Fox Point apartment complex displaced more than 50 people and is expected to cause more than $1 million in damages, the state fire marshal s office said.
The fire was reported shortly before 5 p.m. at the Lighthouse Hill Apartments on Terra Hill Drive near Governor Printz Blvd. The Brandywine Hundred Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames shooting from the roof of a three-story apartment building.
No injuries were reported, but the fire severely damaged a building that contained 12 apartments, fire officials said, and an adjoining building.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Officials: Man killed in Wilmington house fire

WILMINGTON, Del. - Officials say a man has died following a house fire in Wilmington, Delaware.
The blaze broke out on the 1200 block of Carr Road near Woodside Hills Thursday around 9 a.m.
Brandywine Hundred Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames shooting from the one-story dwelling. Firefighters rescued the man from the home. He was treated by New Castle County paramedics and pronounced dead at the Wilmington Hospital.
State fire investigators are on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Heavy fire damage was estimated at $200,000. There were no other injuries.
