Inmate identified who died with COVID-19

BRIDGEPORT A West Haven man in custody since last March while awaiting trial on child pornography charges has died with COVID-19, his lawyer confirmed Tuesday.
Harold Alling, 53, charged with two counts of possession of child pornography in the third degree, was being held in lieu of bond.
Alling’s lawyer, Daniel Ford of Fairfield, confirmed that his client died with COVID-19 but declined further comment.
The state Department of Correction stated in a press release that a male inmate was transferred from the Bridgeport Correctional Center to a hospital for treatment on Dec. 30, “where he succumbed to his illnesses late Sunday evening” but did not identify the inmate.

A Federal Inmate under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Correction passed away from complications related to the novel coronavirus.

Due to medical privacy laws, the name of the individual is not being released.
The 57-year-old male had been transferred from the Agency s Bridgeport Correctional Center to an outside hospital for treatment on January 2, 2021, where he succumbed to his illnesses on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

He was admitted to the State s prison system on September 9, 2020, and was being held for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was not serving a Connecticut sentence at the time of his death.
