WATERTOWN â The north side of Public Square will be closed to all traffic beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday as work crews prepare for a vigil honoring the lives of two people shot and killed inside their business Wednesday.
There will be no incoming traffic from Mill, Factory or State streets through the north side of Public Square and a detour route along Black River Parkway will be provided.
The south side of Public Square will remain open.
The closure will begin at 5:30 p.m. and extend through the end of the event. The vigil is set to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The city of Watertown will remember and honor Maxine Quigg and Terry OâBrien Saturday.
The vigil, starting at 7 p.m., will be at the center of Public Square near the fountain.
Quigg and OâBrien were shot and killed Wednesday afternoon at the Bridgeview Real Estate Services office on Clinton Street.

Quigg and OâBrien were shot and killed Wednesday afternoon at the Bridgeview Real Estate Services office, which they co-owned.
WATERTOWN â State police confirmed Wednesday evening that a Carthage man who allegedly shot and killed two people earlier in the day at a Clinton Street real estate office had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police said the death of Barry K. Stewart occurred after he was located by troopers in Franklin County on Route 11B near Doug Smith Road.
Stewart, 55, allegedly shot two people to death Wednesday afternoon inside BridgeView Real Estate Services, 145 Clinton St., Suite 111, where Stewart was formerly a real estate agent.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday, state police identified the two victims of Wednesdayâs shooting as Maxine M. Quigg, 50, of Wellesley Island, and Terence M. OâBrien, 53, of Black River. The victims co-owned Bridgeview Real Estate Agency, where the shooting occurred.
