ANCASTER, Ontario ― Bridgestone Canada Inc. has opened a warehouse in Ancaster about seven miles west of Hamilton that the tire maker said will increase its ability to serve Canadian tire dealers and customers.
The $48-million dollar warehouse, which has a maximum storage capacity of 570,000 tires, will service Bridgestone customers in Eastern Canada.

2018 announcementthat it is building an automated warehouse at its Canadian passenger and light truck tire manufacturing facility in Joliette, Québec. Bridgestone said the Joliette facility, which will cost $45 million, will enhance the operational excellence of the plant in addition to serving North American customers.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Bridgestone Americas Inc. has reached an agreement to divest its Firestone Building Products unit. LafargeHolcim Ltd. will pay $3.4 billion to acquire the business, which provides commercial roofing and building envelope solutions throughout the U.S.
In a statement, Paolo Ferrari, Bridgestone Americas CEO, president and chief operating officer, said the strategic divestment of this unit will allow Nashville-based Bridgestone to better focus on its core tire and mobility businesses. This transaction will create new growth opportunities for Firestone Building Products and allow Bridgestone to focus its resources to further invest in the company s tire business and rapidly growing mobility solutions business, Ferrari said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Bridgestone Americas Inc. has agreed to sell its Firestone Building Products unit in a $3.4 billion deal that will allow the tire maker to focus its resources on its core tire and emerging mobility solutions businesses.
LafargeHolcim Ltd., a Swiss building products company, is buying the business, which produces commercial roofing and building envelope solutions at 15 facilities throughout the U.S.
