Devante Ingram, OACAC field service coordinator, said April was the first month for the program, which provides a 10-county area with household goods, clothing, food and more. Travel highlighted during tourism week Samantha McDaniel-Ogletree FacebookTwitterEmail The Jacksonville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will be highlighting activities and locations in the area though a community-wide game incorporating Abraham Lincoln in honor of National Travel and Tourism Week next week. The bureau is encouraging community members to participate in the activities, which will be promoted through the organization’s social media sites. The theme, the Power of Travel, is meant to showcase the importance of travel. According to Roger Dow, the president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, travel generated $2.6 trillion in economic output and supported 16 million jobs prior to the pandemic.
