Boost for UK Apprenticeship Scheme Wins Approval from Freight Forwarders
Extra Money Announced by Government and Welcomed
UK – The British International Freight Association (BIFA), the trade association that represents UK freight forwarding and logistics companies, says that it welcomes the news that the government is increasing incentive payments to companies that hire a new apprentice.
The expansion of the scheme means that employers will now receive £3,000 for new apprentices of any age who join their organisation from 1 April 2021 to 30 September 2021. Having been actively involved in the creation of an International Freight Forwarding Specialist apprenticeship, BIFA has committed to promote its availability since it was introduced in 2018. Carl Hobbis, BIFA’s Executive Director, who has management responsibility for BIFA’s training and development services, commented:
