1967 Mercedes-Benz 600 SWB ‘Grosse’ once owned by The Beatles’ lead guitarist George Harrison has come up for sale, courtesy of auction house Collecting Cars.
The 5540mm luxury sedan – which is one of just 2190 examples ever built – was bought by Mr Harrison as a dealer demonstrator in 1968, and underwent a full restoration earlier this year by British Mercedes-Benz specialist John Haynes.
A 6.3-litre V8 petrol engine sends 184kW/530Nm to the rear wheels via a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and this allows the 2630kg behemoth to climb from 0-100km/h in a claimed 10.6 seconds.
