Inspiring Vision
Named after the year Briar Cliff College was dedicated by the Sisters of St. Francis of Dubuque, The 1930 was created to honor Mother Dominica and Bishop Heelan’s vision of creating a Catholic college for women to crown the hilltop once covered in briar patches.

About Sioux City

In addition to a robust collection of traditional academic and entertaining books, the Bishop Mueller Library offers many services to students such as academic resources, computer labs, research mentors, and the BCU Writing Center. Students can contact the library by phone, email, and chat to receive one-on-one help from research mentors and librarians, who are experts at doing research. The Library also houses the TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) offices and a computer lab.
Academic Resources
The Bishop Mueller Library is made up of over 50,000 monographs, 250,000 premium eBooks, millions of journal articles, and so much more! In addition to checking these items out, you can also choose to scan the information you need and email it to yourself using the scanning machines.
Bulk Labeling and Mailing Services
Our University s mailing services allow us to offer outstandingly affordable labeling and bulk mailing services.
We re capable of doing the following: • Inkjet addressing materials (no longer using labels). • Printable stamping services providing you the most cost efficient way to mail. • Processing mailing, using first class, bulk, media and library. • Delivery of bulk mailings to the post office.
Design and Editing Services
Little edits, like correcting a typo, adding/deleting, and changing numbers within PDFs are generally included free of charge. Larger edits or design requests will be quoted out and approved as a separate line item before any actions are taken.
Buildings and Facilities
Some days our campus feels like a masterpiece that is never quite done. In the past 90 years, our campus has never stopped growing and changing. We have invested millions into our physical buildings and facilities. We are consistently reimagining and renovating spaces to remain flexible to the demands of both our residential and off campus student populations.
