The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) has urged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to stop harassing the doctors who participated in a solidarity campaign on Monday, 12 July
In a statement yesterday, 13 July, MMA president Datuk Dr Subramaniam Muniandy said that doctors who supported the Code Black and Black Monday campaigns organised by the association are currently being investigated by the police.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 Malaysia needs another extra RM4 billion to help its health system cope with strained resources during the Covid-19 fight and to also enable permanent positions to be offered to healthcare workers on temporary government contracts, former finance minister Lim Guan Eng said today.
Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general and Bagan MP, highlighted the recent social media photos of the “poignant scene” of doctors at Hospital Kuala Lumpur desperately trying to perform a life-saving procedure on a patient on the floor due to the lack of hospital beds then.

CONTRACT medical officers (MOs) are seeking career opportunities overseas after their applications for permanent positions in the civil service were rejected, said doctors.
They said these are the more than 22,000 MOs who graduated between 2016 and now but who were not automatically absorbed into the government service as was the practice in the past.
Health Ministry data showed that between December 2016 and May 31, 2021, a total of 23,077 UD41 contract medical officers were picked to undergo graduate training and compulsory service.
