We have seen all sorts of rare occurrences at the drag strip, many of them courtesy of the
Drag Racing and Car Stuff YouTube channel. Ranging from snowmobiles going down the quarter-mile to Jeeps climbing the Christmas tree, we shouldn’t be surprised about anything by now, even if we almost see a flip of the natural order of things.
NHRA Adds Bristol to 2021 Schedule, Postpones Virginia
Bristol to become race in Countdown for the Championship; 50% capacity not good enough for NHRA at Virginia RON LEWIS
The NHRA is changing it s schedule on the fly and adding a race to its Countdown to the Championship playoffs in the process.
On Wednesday, NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series officials announced that the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol (Tenn.) Dragway is back on the schedule. The event was canceled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was left off the original 2021 schedule.
In addition to the Bristol news, the NHRA announced postponement of its June 4-6 scheduled event for Virginia Motorsports Park. No make-up date was announced. Virginia joins the earlier postponed Pomona event on the sideline. No word yet on a Pomona makeup.

The Sullivan County Regional Health Department will be providing the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Bristol Dragway on Friday, January 29 beginning at 9 a.m.
The vaccinations are for Phase 1a1 and Phase 1a2 individuals, as well as those who are 70 and older. Officials report vaccines can only be given to Phase 1a1 or Phase 1a2 individuals that live or work in Sullivan County or are a resident of Tennessee, and those who are 70 and older who are residents of Tennessee.
