Horton, charged conjointly with the company, pleaded guilty to a charge of dishonestly converting trust money to her own use. Horton was sentenced to six months in jail, wholly suspended for two years and disqualified from holding a real estate licence for two years. A conviction was recorded. Wilton Resort Management Pty Ltd was fined $2000 and had no conviction recorded. According to Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents Horton is a shareholder in the company but is no longer listed as a director. Office of Fair Trading executive director Brian Bauer said real estate agents must not misuse trust money.
