MIDDLEBURY On May 14, at 4:45 a.m., the world lost a kind, loving soul as William “Bill” Kelly Cochrane peacefully passed away at the McClure Miller Respite House, with family by his side.
Bill was born at St. Clair hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Sept. 9, 1967, to Jinny and George Cochrane. He grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pa., studied at Brehm Preparatory School in Carbondale, Ill., and attended a dairy herd management program in Minnesota. Bill served as assistant to the equipment manager for the sports programs at Mt. Lebanon High School for many years, then followed his love of cows and farms to Vermont.
Brehm Preparatory School
A boarding program for post-secondary students with learning disabilities, attention disorders and language based disorders is getting a new home.
The OPTONS Transition to Independence program in Carbondale held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for its new building on the Brehm Preparatory School campus.
Jeremy Robbins is head of Brehm and OPTIONS. During the ribbon cutting, he said the new space will allow them to launch the next phase of growth in the program. We believe that our world will be more just when young people with learning differences can access the right learning environment. This new building behind me is the new welcome center to the unique community we create at Brehm and OPTIONS. It is the welcome center to this future we envision.
