She will be succeeded by former Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais, who is scheduled to arrive in the state on Tuesday afternoon and take the oath of office next day at Raj Bhavan. On Monday, chief minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by chief secretary Sukhdeo Singh, DGP Niraj Sinha, additional chief secretary Sailesh Kumar Singh, principal secretary to CM Rajiv Arun Ekka and principal secretary Vandana Dadel, among others, was present at the airport to bid her farewell and present her with bouquets before she boarded the flight.

Bokaro: As Covid-19 cases have reduced considerably throughout the country and the demand for oxygen has gone down, the Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) has curtailed its supply of liquid medical oxygen to 11 states. BSL’s chief of communication Manikant Dhan said, “BSL had supplied 7,375 MT of liquid medical oxygen to 11 states when the second wave of the pandemic was at its peak in May. But now the demand has gone down and last month, BSL had to supply only 601MT of oxygen to three states Bihar (105 MT), Uttar Pradesh (210 MT) and Madhya Pradesh (80 MT).” Upon directives of the Union ministry of steel, all the five units of Steel Authority of India Limited had diverted their liquid oxygen for medical use. BSL had to supply oxygen to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Ranchi: As many as 22 trains originating from Chakradharpur and Ranchi divisions of South Eastern Railways (SER) were cancelled and several trains making stopovers in these divisions were shelved as a preventive measure before the landfall of cyclone Yaas. Passenger trains from Tatanagar railway station to Hatia, Badampahar, Danapur, Chhapra, Chakradharpur and Kharagpur and a special express train to Ernakulam were cancelled on Tuesday. Ranchi division cancelled special express trains from Hatia and Howrah, passenger train between Ranchi and Kharagpur, Hatia-Puri Tapashwini Express. Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Puri-Anant Vihar Neelanchal Express, Anant Vihar-Bhubaneswar Special express, all of which have stoppages at Muri railway station, will remain suspended on Wednesday and Thursday.
