WASHINGTON (AP) House Democrats on Thursday asked Donald Trump to testify under oath for his Senate impeachment trial, challenging the former president to respond to their charge that he incited a violent mob to storm the Capitol. In a response, a Trump adviser said Trump won’t testify.
The request in a letter from House impeachment managers does not require Trump to appear though the Senate could later force a subpoena but it does warn that any refusal to testify could be used at trial to support arguments for a conviction. Even if Trump never testifies, the request nonetheless makes clear Democrats’ determination to present an aggressive case against him even though he has left the White House.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki added together President Donald Trump’s $600 stimulus payment and Democrats’ $1,400 stimulus proposal in order to claim that President Joe Biden is not breaking his promise to deliver “$2,000 checks” to Americans.
At a Wednesday press briefing, Psaki was asked if the $1,400 stimulus is breaking the promise Biden made while campaigning in Georgia for two Democrat Senate candidates prior to special elections, which they subsequently won.
Psaki responded by saying that Biden is keeping his promise – if you include the $600 stimulus signed by Then-President Donald Trump on December 27, 2020:
