Belize Receives Vaccines from COVAX Facility
The country is now in phase two of the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines. So as people sixty and older as well as those suffering from certain non-communicable diseases, teachers, police and parliamentarians are coming forward to get their jabs, there is an increase demand. Today was a historic day as the country received its first set of COVID-19 vaccine from the COVAX Facility. News Five was there for its arrival and reporter Duane Moody files this report.

On the tarmac at the Philip Goldson International Airport, government officials along with partner agencies PAHO and UNICEF received Belize’s first batch of AstraZeneca vaccine from the COVAX Facility as the country continues its fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. The arrival of the vaccine strengthens the country’s national response and health system.
