(Reuters) â World number four Sofia Kenin has parted ways with her coach â her father, Alex Kenin â after a string of disappointing performances this year, the 22-year-old American announced on Instagram on Friday.
âThis was not an easy decision for me as we shared many great moments together and had a lot of success,â wrote Kenin, who won her maiden Grand Slam at the Australian Open in 2020.
âI will be forever grateful for my dadâs sacrifice and contributions towards getting me to where I am today.
âI am excited for what the future holds and look forward to putting together a new technical team in the coming weeks ahead.â

Rome, May 8 : Japanese tennis ace and world No. 2 Naomi Osaka could clash with Serena Williams in a mouth-watering quarter-final match of the Italian Open (May 8-16), the draw for which was announced on Saturday.
In another interesting quarter-final match-up, No. 1 seed from Australia, Ashleigh Barty could face Aryna Sabalenka in a rematch of the Stuttgart and Madrid Open finals.
Serena, a four-time champion in Rome in 2002, 2013, 2014 and 2016, will be competing for the first time since her Australian Open semi-final loss to Osaka.
