NORWICH, Conn. Police have arrested 40-year-old Phillip Wise in connection with the deadly shooting of a Norwich man.
On July 21, 2020, Police responded to Lake Street on reports of a shooting. 39-year-old Anthony Williams was shot and killed. A few days later, police identified Wise as a suspect in the investigation and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Wise had left Norwich and a manhunt ensued through the efforts of Norwich police and U.S. Marshals. Wise was arrested in North Carolina last January and was incarcerated as a fugitive until he was extradited on February 15.

NORWICH, CT A man was arrested in North Carolina in connection with a fatal shooting in Norwich last year, according to The Day. Phillip Wise, 40, with a last known address of 37 Lake St., Norwich, was charged with murder.
Police responded to the shooting July 21, 2020, on Lake Street, in which Anthony Lashawn Williams, 39, was killed. Wise, who was known to have connections in other states, fled the region and an extraditable warrant for his arrest was approved July 24.
Norwich detectives worked with U.S. Marshals to capture Wise.

A CARELESS driver who caused the death of a motorcyclist must complete unpaid work. Aaron Borrow opened his Jaguar car door in order to fetch hay fever pills while stuck in a traffic jam in Sussex. The 30-year-old claimed he had checked to make sure the road was clear, and did not see rider Philip Wise, 56, filtering past. Mr Wise was knocked by the opening car door and was then struck by oncoming traffic on the A286 at Birdham. He suffered “indescribable” injuries and later died in hospital. After a short trial at Brighton Crown Court, Borrow was found guilty of causing death by careless driving.
