Senate approves vaccine law on final reading
THE Senate on Tuesday approved on third and final reading a measure seeking to expedite the procurement of vaccines against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and set an indemnification fund. With 22 votes, the Senate approved Bill No. 2057, which has been certified as urgent by President Rodrigo R. Duterte. “With this measure, we hope to see the start of the inoculation of our population, starting with the priority sectors, at the shortest possible time,” Senator Juan Edgardo M. Angara said in a statement. “We as a people have lost so much because of the pandemic in terms of jobs, opportunities and human life. However, we believe that with this measure, we have not lost out on the belief that there will in fact be an end to this ordeal,” the bill’s sponsor added. + February 21, 2021 THE Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) 7 paid P763,266 for 34 approved Covid-19 Community Isolation Benefit Package (CCIBP) claims in Cebu.
Dina Cinchez, PhilHealth 7 public relations officer, said that as of Feb. 11, 2021, PhilHealth 7 received 845 CCIBP claims in the region.
A total of 800 claims were from Community Isolation Units (CIUs), or Department of Health (DOH)-certified public or private non-hospital facilities that serve as quarantine facilities for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients in Cebu.
Cinchez said 221 claims were returned because of lack of documentary requirements, while 58 were denied. The rest are being processed.
The CCIBP of the state health insurer replaced its Hospital Isolation Package on May 11, 2020.
PASAY CITY, Feb. 19 The Department of Finance (DOF), through its Revenue Operations Group (ROG), has assisted the national government in implementing several regulations related to the Bayanihan To Heal As One Act (Republic Act (RA) No. 11469 or the Bayanihan 1) and Bayanihan To Recover As One Act (RA 11494 or the Bayanihan 2) to provide relief to sectors hardest hit by the economic shock triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a report to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Tionko said the DOF and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) issued 34 Revenue Regulations (RRs) last year, most of which were related to the provisions of the Bayanihan laws, Tionko said.
