Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 16) It took 12 long years before engineer Ryan Sagang tripled his income to ₱21,000 a month or $5,040 a year.
With wages hardly adjusting and not enough for his growing family, Sagang began his search for greener pastures, banking on his training in a European electronics company based in Laguna to land a job in Europe.
“I have the capability or skills needed abroad,” the 32-year-old engineer said in Filipino, adding that he could take on odd jobs in Poland as long as the pay is good.
Those 12 years Sagang spent building his career coincided with the economy s growth spurt of six percent and more, straddling the terms of then President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III and President Rodrigo Duterte.
