According to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Commission on Election (Comelec), 40 million Filipinos ages 18 to 35 are eligible to vote in 2022.
“As youths, which make up a substantial proportion of the voting population, we have a huge role to play in the upcoming election and that is to vote for comprehensive and competitive leaders,” Jandeil Roperos, National President of the National Union of the Students of the Philippines (NUSP), said during the E-Heras: The Power of Youth Vote webinar over the weekend.

Jularbal reported that Cordillera s banking sector remains strong and resilient on account of increased deposits, continued bank lending activities and higher number of banking offices and automated teller machines (ATMs).

The head of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has apologized over the failed pilot launch of the online registration for the national identification (ID) system.
Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick T. Chua on Monday, May 3, took full responsibility for the technical glitch that marred the online registration for national ID during its pilot launching on April 30, Friday.

“First of all I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to the Filipino people for what happened, and there is no excuse for what happened. I take full responsibility,” Chua said during an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel.

THE GOVERNMENT upsized the volume of Treasury bills (T-bills) it awarded on Monday and also opened its tap facility as rates dropped ahead of the release of April inflation data.
The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) raised P28.2 billion via the T-bills on Monday, more than the programmed P25 billion. Total tenders reached P93.9 billion or nearly four times as much as the initial offer, and higher than the P71.596 billion in demand seen during last weekâs auction.
The BTr also opened its tap facility to raise P7 billion more via the one-year securities.
