ILOCOS SUR, May 27 (PIA) - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Ilocos spearheaded the conduct of the Joint Regional/Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (R/PTF ELCAC) Barangay Levelling Session for Ilocos Sur on Tuesday.
Over 2,000 participants composed of Liga ng mga Barangay presidents, punong barangays, barangay kagawads, Sangguniang Kabataan presidents and members, and indigenous people mandatory representatives (IPMRs) from 768 villages in the province attended the event.
DILG in the Ilocos Regional Director James Fadrilan said that this program is anchored on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte s political will and firm commitment to end the communist insurgency in the country.
