ILOILO CITY, April 12 (PIA) – The timely and accurate information provided by the public to the government security forces is vital for prompt response by authorities against the terrorist groups.
Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division Commander, Major General Eric Vinoya, said that any information relayed by the locals and communities against the Communists Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army Terrorists (CNT) will be acted promptly.
He said that the recent successful armed engagements of the Army in Iloilo towns can be attributed to the vigilance, support and cooperation of the peace-loving people in the area.
“In order for the Army to remain at the upper hand in the fight against the CPP-NPA Terrorists we need to be relentless in our operations against this group. Any information relayed to us by the locals and the communities will be acted promptly,” Vinoya said in a press release from the 3ID’s Public Affairs Office.

The Senate employees’ union is considering asking the courts or the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) for legal assistance after the chief of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) linked the organization to leftist groups.
Officials of the Sandigan ng mga Empleyadong Nagkakaisa sa Adhikain ng Demokratikong Organisasyon (SENADO) disclosed such plans during a virtual press conference on Friday, April 9, as they reiterated their concerns on the government agency’s red-tagging activities on their group.
“We are already discussing our next steps after the malicious labeling of our group,” said Rosel Eugenio, SENADO president.
“We have a broad venue for redress. Aside from the courts, we can explore the possibility of elevating our concerns before the United Nations, and the CHR,” she further said.

QUEZON CITY, April 8 (PIA) The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) on Wednesday stood behind the claim of National Intelligence Coordinating Agency Director-General Alex Paul Monteagudo that the union of Senate employees is reportedly a front of the communist group.
In a report by the Philippine News Agency, Presidential Communications Operations Office Undersecretary and NTF-ELCAC Spokesperson Lorraine Marie Badoy said the NTF-ELCAC is convinced that the Sandigan ng mga Empleyadong Nagkakaisa sa Adhikain ng Demokratikong Orgnisasyon (SENADO) is being controlled by the labor group Confederation for Unity, Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE).
