Bellevue Police arrested one protester Tuesday after police said he intentionally attacked a bike officer in downtown Bellevue. The incident was isolated from the protest that took place outside a Bellevue hotel that was hosting a police appreciation dinner. Other than the one arrest, Bellevue Police spokesperson said they were pleased that no businesses were damaged and nobody was injured in a protest that lasted roughly three hours. Around 8.

BELLEVUE, WA Protests are possible Tuesday evening at Bellevue s Downtown Park, during an event billed as a law enforcement appreciation dinner at the Hyatt Regency, hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
The dinner drew criticism in April after invitations were sent to Seattle Police Department employees. Interim Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz shared a message on April 16 formally rescinding the e-mail, citing Rev. Franklin Graham s history and affiliations. Graham is an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump, earlier this year comparing the 10 Republicans who voted for impeachment to Judas Iscariot. He has frequently decried same-sex marriage and other LGBTQ rights.

A few groups protested an appreciation dinner for law enforcement held at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue Tuesday evening. Although one arrest was made, it’s unclear whether it was related to the protests.
The dinner was hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BCEA). The Seattle Police Department had previously rescinded an email invitation to the dinner, in the wake of criticism over the views of the BCEA regarding the LGBTQ community.
